10/2/22 Request received:
I am looking for resources to assist a client with paying a past due rent balance. I called around last week and was not able to find any assistance.
The client was formerly unhoused for a several years after being released from incarceration. (Note: Not actual picture)
We worked with client to help get stable along with several agencies. Over the past three years the client has handled rent, purchased a car, and handled other living expenses on their own. That is until a bout with COVID19 early last year turned into long COVID and resulted in a loss of employment. This illness caused the client to get behind in utilities, car note, etc. Client has limited income which prevents them from catching up. As a result, client cannot sign new lease and landlord is threatening eviction if balance is not current by the end of month. Our current goal is to keep client from losing housing. They will be able to maintain on their own once the balance is caught up.
Rental balance is $3,347. We now have $1,500 of that amount. Just wondering if any resources are or if there are CTOSH partners who may be interested in collectively working with us to get $1847 balance paid.
Please let me know if you are willing to assist or have any ideas about where I may be able seek additional resources.
