Landscaper's truck impounded - need help

6/16/22 Request received: I'm reaching out to ask if anyone knows of or can offer support to one of our members. His truck was impounded two weeks ago and he's been struggling to get it back. We tracked the truck down to an auto shop in Hempstead and I spoke to them today. (Note: Not actual picture)

As of today he owes $640 to get the truck out, but they were willing to bring that down to $500 (maybe less). His truck is his lifeline. It's not only where he sleeps and stays safe at night, it's how he finds work doing landscaping around Austin. He's already lost his phone and backpack, and has been sleeping outside since the truck was impounded. We are really worried things will get worse. He's seeking financial help to get the truck out. Are there any orgs or funds that support in preventing homelessness or in situations like this? We reached out to the Homeless Strategy Office already but they can't help and we're really looking for help! Thank you!! -- Best, Exxx Organizer and Training Coordinator Texas Harm Reduction Alliance

UA (Unsheterel Austin) PAID: $500

Update: The landscaper called us with thank yous and blessings. His truck is his lifeline.
